This carpet cleaner really rocks. The hotter the water, the better it does. I’m allergic to conventional cleaners, but a cup of vinegar to really hot water makes an excellent cleaner. The machine was heavy for me to use; that’s probably what helps it work so well. My only problem has been with Amazon.com. The description said “free shipping” but I was charged for shipping anyway. I thought that was quite unusual from a usually reliable shipper. No complaints about the machine though.

Does the job, however. Item, purchased as new, arrived with the front scrub brushes broken (middle brush would fall out of holder, retainer missing). Then, after one use, the waste water collection reservior intake fins broke and one of two reservior retaining clips broke. To Amazon’s credit they promptly paid the costs for replacement parts (parts and shipping). Their customer service is great.

Occasionally, a product performs as stated and anticipated.This Hoover product does an excellent cleaning job. Yes, you do have to fill the water, empty the discharge and clean the machine in general.Have just one comment for consideration. If your rooms have a lot of furniture and close quarters, you might want to consider this model rather than the wider, and more deluxe unit. It will only be more difficult to use in close quarters. However, the wider units will cover more area quicker if not obstructed.

This easy to use product is well worth the price. Assembles in minutes and both detergent and discard containers are easy to fill and clean. Works similar to a vacuum cleaner and is handy for unexpected spills and stains. The only negative is the use of some plastic parts.

We love this steam vacuum for upright use. I have lost the instructions, though, and can’t for the life of me figure out how to use the attachments — particularly, how to attach the hose to the machine. The front of my stairs looks atrocious while the rest of my carpet looks great! Ergh! I’m giving it only three stars because I think these things should be relatively easy to figure out OR (more conveniently) basic instructions should be printed on the machine. I tried everything I could think of.

I purchased a Hoover “Tempo”: [[ASIN:B0009ONZ8G Hoover U5140-900 Tempo Widepath Bagged Upright Vacuum], and it needs belts periodically…’heard they’re a bit of trouble to lay hands on locally, so I ’stocked-up’ on Amazon. The product “Number” 40201160 is a bit confusing, and the description should be made to denote that product “Number” 40201160 is Hoover’s product number for a PACKAGE OF TWO 38528-033 or 38528033, belts. Having received shipment, and confirming that these were the exact replacement item, I have to say that this is a ‘no-brainer’ with Amazon’s offer for free shipping.

My Hoover was beginning to no longer pick up the hair and debris on the rug like it used to. I also could hear the agitator stall out on the rug. I bought this, received it quickly and installed it in 5 minutes. The vacuum is as good as new now. I could see that my old belt was warn through, this definitely fixed my problems.

I bought two packs of these after the belt broke on the my Hoover, they are Hoover OEM parts and not generic, so I’m happy with them and the on I installed works great. Glad I have these around just in case it breaks again.

This detergent works very well. It has a pleasant oder and has a very low “suds effect”, which allows the rug machine to work as designed without premature filling of the recovery tank. This is the detergent designed exclusively for the Hoover SteamVac which is by far the best rug cleaner available on the market. So stick with the Hoover name. I bought this for $19.95 and free shipping from Amazon for a 128oz size bottle which will give me around 26 refils. To put it another way, that’s 26 gallons of carpet cleaning solution. That will clean a lot of carpets with just one bottle! ALso, I saw it at Walmart for $5. less-not a bad deal, but you will probably use that much in gas and time spent getting it there.

We purchased when we could get the 4 for 3 offer…What a deal. The item is not only cost efficient, but it works so well. Smells great but the smell goes away rather quickly – within a day or so. I think it does take stains out fairly well and works well with our Hoover Steamvac. Not much residue left over after pick up but we also do a clean rinse when done just to make sure nothing is left behind.

I purchased this detergent to go along with my Hoover Steamvac All Terrain. The detergent has a pleasant smell, and the carpet was spotless once I was done steamcleaning. I followed the manufacturer’s instructions and also pretreated spots with Hoover’s spray spot and stain remover. My only complaint about this detergent is that it is so pricey, not just through Amazon (which is usually the cheapest), but in general. I am going to be using a LOT of this stuff. Thanks to a tip that someone else wrote in their review, I’ll be watching for the “buy 2, get one free” promotion from Amazon in the future.
