There is no problem with the belt itself. However installing it and making it work is not a trivial task. If you are handy person and can make changes on the fly to make it work, that is good. Otherwise have a technision take care ot it.

Looked locally and felt the prices were too high (approx 2x). I paid a much more reasonable price and shipping cost for a replacement item. I hope that this belt will last a similar time to the previous one (approx 4yrs). Straightforward to install.

For some reason my Eureka upright has been going through belts on a regular basis. The vacuuming is nothing out of the ordinary but the previous belts that came with the vacuum just shred apart. Hopefully this new batch will more staying power. I can’t rate the new belts since I just installed one so the 5 star rating is for the quick shipping.

After wasting several hours going from one store to another (all licensed Eureka dealers BTW) I finally had the good sense to search for this on Amazon. Bingo. Five minutes later I have what I need. I little pricey for a strip of rubber, but cheaper than a new vacuum.

The belt that came with the vacuum was tough and worked > 1y till a week or so ago. I replaced it a few minutes ago with this product, using two on-line versions of directions plus common sense, and I didn’t even cross the room before it broke again. Two floors, three vacuums, all Eurekas. If only the belts were as strong as an O-ring.

What can one say about a belt; it either works or it doesn’t. I’ve noticed complaints about the belt breaking frequently on the Eureka 4870. I think that is due in large part to the manual operation of the height adjustment. The height should be adjusted to the highest level that actually works on the carpet being vacuumed. If it is adjusted too low, the resistance from the carpet versus the powerful motor on the 4870 stresses the belt too much and it breaks. I’ve used the same belt on my 4870 for well over two years and it seems to be as good as new. I have a fairly thick carpet and adjust the height to the next to the highest position for most of the carpeted areas of the house. We have some rugs and other carpeted areas where I need to drop the height down, but usually the third level down from the highest works well on those. Properly adjusted the 4870 cleans very well, fluffs up the carpet, and extends the belt life. The bottom line on this is if you don’t stress the belt by adjusting the height too low for the carpet; the belt can last for years.

Eureka ENVIRO STEAMER Review
I have been reading about all the different steam mops and their pros and cons. I decided on the enviro and I am so glad I did. First… no whimpy pad here, this baby is thick and durable and really easy to put on and take off. It didn’t ’soak’ the floor as long as you keep it moving. I did a kitchen, family room laundry and 3 bathrooms with 2 refills and without changing the pad. It heats up in 3 minutes, the cord is fine, I just unplugged and plugged it in from room to room. The cloth really picks up dirt and I just threw it in the wash with some car towels and let it air dry. This cloth is so heavy duty, you will not need to buy replacements. The machine will wear out before the pads do. Buy this one, it’s a great price and you will not be disappointed.

I told my husband I actually felt like dancing I was so happy to be steam mopping with my Enviro Steamer. I have about 800 sf of tile, I just fill and go, it covers the whole area. To move into another room, I simply unplug it, move, plug it back in and keep going. The weight is where it should be, on top of the pad. It cleans so well, for tougher stains just keep it steaming on that spot. In fact, it’s cleaning the spots up that the others couldn’t get! The pads are thick and easily tossed in the wash. The floor is clean, not wet which is great since I have two dogs. My white tile floor just sparkles and I know its clean because of the steam. I also like that fact that there are no chemicals.

Very happy to see the Enviro Steamer return !!! I have had the 311A enviro steamer for 2 years. I had to pay an arm & a leg for it on ebay because Eureka discontinued this product several years ago. Mopping was my least favorite chore, it almost brought me to tears I hated it so much. I have over 1200 sq.ft. of tile in my house & keeping it clean used to be a daunting task. UNTIL……..the enviro steamer.
