This carpet cleaner really rocks. The hotter the water, the better it does. I’m allergic to conventional cleaners, but a cup of vinegar to really hot water makes an excellent cleaner. The machine was heavy for me to use; that’s probably what helps it work so well. My only problem has been with Amazon.com. The description said “free shipping” but I was charged for shipping anyway. I thought that was quite unusual from a usually reliable shipper. No complaints about the machine though.

Does the job, however. Item, purchased as new, arrived with the front scrub brushes broken (middle brush would fall out of holder, retainer missing). Then, after one use, the waste water collection reservior intake fins broke and one of two reservior retaining clips broke. To Amazon’s credit they promptly paid the costs for replacement parts (parts and shipping). Their customer service is great.

Occasionally, a product performs as stated and anticipated.This Hoover product does an excellent cleaning job. Yes, you do have to fill the water, empty the discharge and clean the machine in general.Have just one comment for consideration. If your rooms have a lot of furniture and close quarters, you might want to consider this model rather than the wider, and more deluxe unit. It will only be more difficult to use in close quarters. However, the wider units will cover more area quicker if not obstructed.

This easy to use product is well worth the price. Assembles in minutes and both detergent and discard containers are easy to fill and clean. Works similar to a vacuum cleaner and is handy for unexpected spills and stains. The only negative is the use of some plastic parts.

We love this steam vacuum for upright use. I have lost the instructions, though, and can’t for the life of me figure out how to use the attachments — particularly, how to attach the hose to the machine. The front of my stairs looks atrocious while the rest of my carpet looks great! Ergh! I’m giving it only three stars because I think these things should be relatively easy to figure out OR (more conveniently) basic instructions should be printed on the machine. I tried everything I could think of.

I purchased this steamer to clean up a shower stall at home. It was amazing how well it worked. I am looking for other things to try it on. I highly recommend it.

This is better made than the Eureka it replaced,that had a SS tank ,sheet metal that pitted even with distilled water. Still, this is for home use not really a heavy duty type. This unit has a cast metal tank similar to an espresso machine and puts out more steam. I paid $50 at a local club store, so the price here is not that good at all, for the price I paid it is worth it.

My anticipation of this new arrival was well worth the wait. I opened the box and quickly put water in. Waited 12 min to heat up and away I went I could not stop cleaning looking for anything and everything to clean, Love this product. Today, I used the upholstery brush worked very well. Weird thing is when everything was cleaned it feels wonderful so awesome no dangerous chemicals were used. This product is great for everyone especially those who have asthma. Highly recommend it.

If you plan on removing wall paper yourself, do yourself a big favor and get this steamer. I haven’t really used it for anything else except to remove the wallpaper from one of the bedrooms in the house. I have tried the chemical method before and with the steamer it was much easier — it still took me about 4 weekends to finish the job. You will need the wallpaper scoring tool, without it you will be working forever. It paid for itself on this one do it yourself job.

Anyone who buys this has to understand that dirt does not just magically disappear with this item. And if your dirt is truly been there for awhile, you will have to at least pre-soak and when you do use the steam, you will have to carry a towel with you to mop up the dirty water. Considering its reviews, I am most decidedly disappointed. This machine ins NOT, IS NOT for terrazzo or Mexican tile. You will not be happy if you plan to use this on anything but an easy wash tile and in that case you probably don’t need it. It is good for dust and for dusty areas that are hard to reach. Ditto picture frames. You will either have to get something better if you have true dirt. Also, the plastic parts break easily.
