I loved this vacuum. It had been effective enough to pick up just about something and also the convenience of the hand vacuum AND cordless! Though a different color, this is indeed the proper replacement battery for original Roombas. If you are lucky enough to have one of these classic machines around in good mechanical condition, do not fret and buy this battery now. You will be amazed and how your little guy springs back to life. Though a bit pricey, this is far less than you’d spend on a new machine. Unless you really need the features introduced on the new units, buy this instead. My unit went from barely being able to complete one room – and slowly, at that – to doing at least five rooms, each at top speed.

There is a major bug in the IRobot software for versions prior to 2005 I believe (maybe 2004) which causes the robot to stop working and for batteries to charge improperly. They have a fix – send it to you free – and you ship it back (its a usb plug in device) free because they provide the envelope – Try the software fix before the battery.

iRobot Roomba 4210 Discovery Vacuuming Robot, White originally ordered with maintenance pack. The maintenance pack comes with everything except a replacement battery. The original battery lasted exactly two years, typical for batteries. Though it would have been nice to already have a spare battery on hand, logically a battery sitting around for a couple of years would have expired anyway. The new battery arrived quickly from my point of ordering and was an easy swap and drop once cut out of the outer sealed sharp plastic packaging. My robot is back to pestering the dog again.

The battery shown is THE iRobot Roomba battery — the company name/logo is even printed on the battery that is SHOWN. However, this is a bit of false advertising, as the battery that is actually being sold is a generic X brand — just like the many others that are available on the market, but at least they advertise for being what they are — a generic brand, not an actual battery made by iRobot. The product itself works fine, but consumers are not exactly getting what they have paid for — the iRobot quality and brand.

My Roomba Discovery hadn’t been charged in a year (found out you have to charge it frequently even when not in use or it will never charge up again). The battery was completely drained and dead. Roomba customer service told me that it would never charge up and that I need to completely replace the ENTIRE Roomba. Well, all I did was buy this new battery and my Roomba has come back to life!! Better than before!

I purchased a Hoover “Tempo”: [[ASIN:B0009ONZ8G Hoover U5140-900 Tempo Widepath Bagged Upright Vacuum], and it needs belts periodically…’heard they’re a bit of trouble to lay hands on locally, so I ’stocked-up’ on Amazon. The product “Number” 40201160 is a bit confusing, and the description should be made to denote that product “Number” 40201160 is Hoover’s product number for a PACKAGE OF TWO 38528-033 or 38528033, belts. Having received shipment, and confirming that these were the exact replacement item, I have to say that this is a ‘no-brainer’ with Amazon’s offer for free shipping.

My Hoover was beginning to no longer pick up the hair and debris on the rug like it used to. I also could hear the agitator stall out on the rug. I bought this, received it quickly and installed it in 5 minutes. The vacuum is as good as new now. I could see that my old belt was warn through, this definitely fixed my problems.

I bought two packs of these after the belt broke on the my Hoover, they are Hoover OEM parts and not generic, so I’m happy with them and the on I installed works great. Glad I have these around just in case it breaks again.
