Duracell Value Charger CEF14DX4N Review
I purchased the CEF14 charger with four batteries and the charger supplied is not the same one pictured, nor is it a “dumb” charger as some have described. It can also charge four aa or aaa batteries and is not limited to two aaa’s again as some have described. When I tested it, different batteries charged at different speeds and the charger switched modes to a trickle charge when a set became fully charged. As for the batteries themselves, they do indeed seem to be comparable to Sanyo Eneloops or Rayovac Hybrids at a slightly lower price.

The Duracell Value Pre Charged Rechargeable NiMH AA Batteries are OK, but frankly I don’t see any discernable difference between them and others of the same variety, except the fact they arrive charged–unless they were on a shelf somewhere for a couple of months before delivery. I didn’t take a chance and charged them before I used them anyhow. I suppose that was not necessary, but I had no idea how fresh the batteries were. The batteries have performed well for me in a digital camera so far. I would recommend them and the charger that is included, but without saying they are superior to other high end brands.

Not sure how Duracell did it, but they solved the one con with the Ni-mH type batteries. These pre-charged, Ni-mH batteries don’t discharge when not being used, so they’re perfect for digital devices. This charger with 4 batteries doesn’t cost much more than just the 4 batteries alone. Here’s what you do: acquire twice as many of these batteries w/ the green label as what your digital camera will take. While you’re using one set in your camera keep the other set in this charger. Then, when the set in the camera go dead, just swap them out with the set that’s in the charger. You’ve always got a set of fresh batteries and no waiting for batteries to charge, plus no buying batteries for a long time. This is more expensive initially but saves a lot of $$$ in the long run.

I’ve had this charger for over a year. I’ve used for my digital camera, and for my sisters. For the first year we were able to use the batteries with great success. But recently in the past 4 months the batteries aren’t holding a charge and when they do, it is only enough for my camera to take one picture and then stop working. I’ve placed new rechargeable batteries with the same result.

I ordered these around Christmas time and was lucky to get one of the two I ordered as Amazon sold out of these “2-packs”. Just standard AAs nothing special there – but the price really can’t be beat here as long as you have free shipping. Also, Amazon usually has a promotion going on for batteries where you get something like $10 off for buying $25 dollars or more – so that really sweetens the deal.

They’re batteries from a reputable company. They won’t explode and they work, just what you’d expect from batteries.

At the current price of $16.20 for 32 batteries (2 packs of 16), you’re paying about .50/ea battery. At the subscribe & save price of $13.77, it’s about .43/ea. You can find these at the store for the same or cheaper pricing. Costco sells 36 AA Duracell packs for 12.99 – that’s where I’m getting my batteries from now on. This Amazon price is just not competitive.

I received these batteries but only 1 pack of 16 instead of the 32 and the package was pretty beat up. I haven’t check the exp. date so i guess i should do that now… I buy a lot of stuff from amazon and never had a problem until now so i did give a 2 star rating for this being the first time having a problem.

Duracell batteries are the best on the market. I don’t buy anything else because I have to buy too many of them. They wear out. They do not keep going and going and going. But Duracells do. My purchase from this venue was driven by the difficulty in finding them at the local office supply store. My purchase was fast, easy, and inexpensive. Great deal.

Based on reviews on other Eneloop products, I bought this kit prior to my vacation. On the whole, I’m quite pleased. It’s only been a month, but the batteries seem to be holding their charge fairly well. Certainly, they’re doing worlds better than my old ones which had the camera showing a low battery warning after an idle week. The charger is fairly slow. You’ll want to leave your batteries in it overnight rather than trying to top them off in a hurry. Note that the charger can only charge TWO batteries at a time. I didn’t realize that when I ordered it and was disappointed. It’s also kind of finicky to get the AAA batteries into it. The AA’s went in nicely.

A friend in Japan sent me some eneloop cells when they were first introduced. They tested out very close to their rated capacity of 2000 mAh. I then conducted some self discharge tests. I fully charged the cells and set them on a shelf in my house. I checked them at 30 days, 90 days, and 180 days. After 6 months of room temperature storage they had 86% of their initial capacity.

I have a 5 MP digital camera that only uses 2 AA batteries and was getting very finicky about the Energizer and Rayovac rechargeable NiMH batteries I supplied it with. I like to charge up my batteries and keep a spare set in my camera case for backup. However, I was continuously putting in the fresh batteries and the camera wouldn’t even power on. It would say “Change batteries”. It was baffling b/c batteries that were totally charged were not working any more. The only thing I could figure is that because NiMH AA batteries are only 1.2 Volts instead of the standard 1.5, anything less than a full charge would not supply the camera with a high enough voltage to power on. Then I started reading about batteries and discovered that these things lose charge surprisingly fast when sitting in storage. I bought four Eneloop batteries and tried them. I have been amazed at the performance with my digital camera. With the previous brands of NiMH, I could maybe get 120 pictures from the camera. Now I can go almost double that time. Don’t ask me why. Part of that reason is probably due to the fact that I don’t use my camera for significant amounts of time between shoots. So the eneloops hold that charge MUCH better. Anyway, foot the extra cost of these batteries and order plenty of extras. You’ll be glad you did when using high-drain devices!

Sony BCG-34HRMF4 Battery Charger Review
The charger seems to charge the batteries as it is supposed to. It takes about 8 hours to fully charge four batteries. Once charged, the batteries work OK if used within a couple of days, although I thought I would get more pictures per charge than I do. The real problem is that after about 5 days after charging the battery, they are essentially dead. They will not even turn on the camera. It doesn’t matter if they are stored in the camera or not. The voltage measured at that point is about 1.1 volts. I have had the unit about two months and this has been a problem from day one. I even tried a full discharge through the charger, but that made no difference. I don’t know if I have defective batteries (all four) or if the charger is not providing a full charge even though the indicator shows it to be fully charged. expected better from Sony than this.

I’m using these batteries for my Xbox 360 controllers and they work great. Charge up overnight and they last for about 3 weeks or longer. My electric razor has lasted for over a month without a recharge of the batteries. It simply does as advertised. Fair price/works great. I liked it so much I had to buy another 4 pack of batteries for it (comes with 4). Give it about 7 hours to charge. I pop the batteries in over night and it cuts off automatically after they are charged. Charges AA & AAA. LED indicator is a nice touch.

The refresh function is very helpful. And if you not in a hurry, just let the batteries in the charger, they will not be over-charge. No hot battery, and you can charge one/two/three or four batteries at the same time as you wish. The Sony batteries in the package is also in good quality, and super powerful.

Love this charger! You can charge individual batteries, in case you have something that requires 3 or 1 which is really useful. I charges fairly quickly but do not expect it to be 10 minutes, but I have no rush since the SONY batteries last so long. I have a Nikon Coolpix P50 and I took and reviewed almost 1000 photos and a video with a single pair of batteries and only use the second one when I needed to copy the photos to the computer. The feature of that display with the exact charge of each battery is wonderful, used it even to measure some already charged batteries.

So far I am very pleased with this product. I use AA batteries in my sb600 flash for wedding and other portraiture and the batteries stayed juiced up and ready to go instantly for the duration of the wedding. I wish I had thought of doing this sooner, it would have saved me a lot of money and stress keeping full batteries in my speed light. The unit is small and light and has universal voltage which was a big selling point for me as I see travel in my future. The automatic shut off is nice too so you can juice up over night while sleeping and be ready to go the next day. My only wish is that it would accommodate 9 volt batteries but I guess you have to pay a higher price for something like that…..Overall very pleased.

Sanyo Eneloop Batteries Review
I bought these batteries for use with my Canon S2 digital camera. I was having trouble with typical nimh batteries because I would charge a spare pair of batteries for use when the main pair died. But I was finding that the ones I charged a few weeks ago would be almost fully discharged by the time I would swap them. This was really annoying and pretty much defeated the purpose of having rechargeables… I had to use alkalines instead. But this new so called ‘hybrid’/low discharge technology finally solves this problem. Of course it does not solve it completely because these batteries still discharge over time… just a lot slower, but at least now I know I have a pair of batteries that are at least 80 percent or so charged when I swap them. This technology was actually developed by an small independent company and licensed for use with all the major battery companies now. For instance, Sony is also utilizing it in their new batteries now. To me, this demonstrates how well it works. So how does it hold up in real life? Pretty darn well, actually. I noticed that these particular batteries last really long in my Canon S2. I haven’t had the problem of charged batteries being totally discharged by the time I swap them anymore. So if you’re having similar problems with your older Nimh batteries, I would recommend giving these batteries a try. But don’t feel limited to this brand, there are many other brands utilizing this technology and I’ve used other brands with the same great results.

After switching digital camera from Canon A75 to A540, I discovered the battery life is extremly short on the A540. At first I thought it’s because Canon A540 uses 2-AA instead of A75 with 4-AA batteries, then one time, after taking ZERO pictures and freshly recharged NiMH sitting in the camera for only one day, the “low battery” indicator came on. This happened to both Energizer NiMH 2300mAh battery and Sony NiMH 2600mAh. So I begin to Google the problem and discovered it has something to do with rechargeable battery’s drop-off voltage characteristic and how Canon’s camera interpret this as low battery indicator. Hence comes the Eneloop. These batteries’ voltage doesn’t drop and they discharge very very slowly. I have used the Eneloop for over two months now and glad to say it finally solve the problem of my Canon A540. A set of freshly charged Eneloop can last for weeks and 300+ pictures and counting. Plus the charger is 110v to 220v capable, so my trip to Asia/Europe won’t require a different charger. This is an awesome product and I will buy more of it!

Sony Power Battery Charger Review
This set includes 4 AA cells Made in Japan for Sony by Sanyo, as well as a timed charger, NOT a smart charger as its similar looking Sony variants. The Sony Power Charger can recharge 4 AAA or AA cells at a time. Unlike the Panasonic BQ-390 which I also used and reviewed, this Sony uses a timer to stop charging. The Panasonic BQ-390 has advanced circuitry inside to monitor charging through temperature, voltage drop, and the cell’s internal resistance, so that you’ll get more precise charging and less damage from overcharging of simpler chargers. Sony also offers a similarly advanced product, but this model is a cheaper timed model. It charges the 2100mAH cells for 8 hours straight, or 800 mAh AAA cells for 7 hours straight. If you charge a partially used cell, it will not detect when the cell reaches full charge, and might overcharge. It’s best to charge a fully depleted cell with timed chargers.

This is a timed charger, but well matched to the supplied 2100mAh NiMH batteries. The manual recommends charging after a full discharge, so it may overcharge your partially depleted cell or an older cell with lower capacity. As long as you recharge a fully empty, ~2100mAh cell, it shall be fine. The included cells, actually made by Sanyo-GE, are premium cells, and only surpassed by Sanyo’s latest 2300mAh cells.

This was the best deal I found on rechargable NiHM batteries and that too these are made in Japan by Sony. It has a capacity of 2300mAh.
There is one problem with this. This charger does not automatically shut off when the batteries finish charging. So the first time I charged them, I kept waiting for the indicator to go off and I realized after 18 hrs that they are not going to go off. So, though the batteries are good the charger is not. I would suggest people to go with another sony rechargable model that sells here for just a few dollars more.

I purchased these batteries from NYC Electronics, throug Amazon and received them within the week; I also purchased the Duracell CEF14NC charger. It took 8 hours to charge the batteries, but that charge lasted 14 days in my Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 Keyboard with lighted keys and Mouse. Giving that I used them 10-12 hours a day, and they were on standby for the rest of the time I am truly impressed. The Energizer batteries that came with the keyboard and mouse had to be charged every day, there is no comparison in the charge between the two batteries. I do believe the original charge of eight hours had something to do with the longevity of the batteries. I just recharged the keyboard and mouse for the first time, with the charger that is part of the total keyboard package; it only took 4 hours to get a full charge for the keyboard and two hours for the mouse. I give both purchases a 5 star rating.

I recently purchased these batteries at a local store for my Microsoft Entertainment 8000 keyboard and mouse. The original Energizer batteries that came with the keyboard needed to be charged everyday! With the new batteries it’s been over 3 weeks now on a single charge! These batteries are worth every penny. Microsoft should seriously consider including these batteries with their hardware. 5 stars!

If you are looking for AA batteries with significantly more power than other commonly available AA NiMH batteries, get the Duracell 2650mah if you can find them. I had been searching for high-performance AA batteries for quite some time before I stumbled across these in a CVS. My purchase was a wise one as these have outperformed every other AA I have tested, including those rated at 2500mah.

Sony Quick Battery Charger Review
I use them in my Sony Alpha digital flash unit. They last longer than any others I’ve owned and have held up very well over the last few months. Charging times have been shorter than described. Sony batteries had good ratings from other users which persuaded me to purchase them as well.

This is an excellent charger. Its voltage is universal 110/220 V, and it is small enough to carry if you travel. The charging time is a bit long, but I still give this product 5 stars for its quality.

This charger is a good quality one from Sony. It is compact and easy to use. Only it gets a bit hot after prolonged use. Automatic worldwide voltage support is great! The batteries are good too and last almost for 200 shots with my canon s3is.

I’m moving to rechargeable batteries for all my remote controls, wireless keyboards, mice, etc, that seem to just chew up batteries. I tried this unit after a little research and it works great. The batteries come uncharged which was slightly disappointing. But after charging they have a good lifespan. When I take out a dead one I put it right into the charger, and when its charged back up I put it into a little container I keep in the closet.

Handles 4AAs or 2AA and 2AAA at a time. Buy enough extra batteries so that you have enough for all the devices you want to use these with plus a few spares to rotate through when they discharge.

Sony 2500 mAh AA Rechargeable Nimh Review
These batteries are the longest lasting rechargeable batteries I’ve ever had for a digital camera, and rival the life of lithium batteries. They last for well over a hundred shots with our Canon S3IS, as well as reviewing pictures and playing around with settings, etc. Great batteries for a great price.

These are my first rechargeable batteries, so all I can say is that in comparison to alkaline, these are WAY better and longer losting. Alkalines stop working in digital cameras long before they are actually used up, because they can’t supply the required current for high-demand devices. These Sonys last much more than 4x as long because alkalines only work for a few minutes. These Sonys maintain their voltage at a stable level. I am using them in an Olympus C-755 digital camera, and I charge them using the Sony BCG-34HE4 charger. I can’t say exactly how many pictures you can take on one charge, because they last for so long I lose track. If you have a digital camera, you absolutely must use rechargeable Nimh batteries. Don’t waste your money on the expensive “high-end” alkalines or non-rechargeable lithium, etc. Also, you are doing the environment a favor by not using toxic landfill filler.
