iRobot 4905 Battery Review
I would give the battery and this company a 5 star review but the battery has only been in Roomba for about 3 weeks. Our brand new Roomba stopped working after about 91 days of use – one day after the warranty expired. Roomba’s customer service would not honor a warranty that expired so soon after purchase nor would they offer us a reduced price on a battery – thus causing me to rethink plans of purchasing a scrooba. We had purchased a refurbished roomba thinking it had been inspected and had no problems. We tried all the published tricks you will see on the Amazon review sites to no avail. Finally we decided to purchase a new battery. This battery is actually a Roomba battery as opposed to a generic that some sites advertise (trickily). So far so good. The price was considerably less than the Roomba website. But if this battery fails in 91 days then I will probably put roomba away and stick to my Hoover.
After a couple years of service then a couple years in retirement, my old battery wasn’t working. I thought I would have to trash the whole Roomba, but this brought it back to life and it works like new.
The battery works great, but the lifespan of our first battery was very short. Roomba advertises that it will run hundreds of time before it needs to be replaced. After several calls to Roomba to figure out what was wrong with our vacuum (including multiple resets) it turns out that it was the battery. We haven’t even used it 100 times, so I’ll be interested to see how long this one lasts.
I purchsed this and it works great. I am impressed at how quickly I got it too, was very quick. As usual, Amazon has done an excellent job.
